The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine had four successful performances in the San Francisco bay area from February 10th through 12th. The choristers joined them as did Bishop John Westor. They performed in Tiburon, Oakland and San Francisco.
Friday, February 24 was the Diocesan Science Fair and along with help from Mr. Lambert, our students did very well. 1st Place in the 8th Grade Astronomy category was Megan Wolfe, whose project was “Can the Moon be used to tell time?” 1st Place in the 8th Grade Biology category was “Does light affect the rate at which food spoils?”, presented by Theyoung Puoy. Seth Brown won 1st Place in the 7th Grade Earth category with “Does size really matter? (bark beetle)”. “Affording the Sun” was the 1st Place winner in the 7th Grade Engineering category, presented by Trent Niederee.

Bishop Wester to Accompany Choristers to Archbishop Niederauer’s San Francisco Diocese
The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine from Salt Lake City, Utah, which features the choristers of The Madeleine Choir School, will be
touring in the Bay Area in February 2012.
The Choir will be performing a concert at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Belvedere Tiburon on Friday, February 10, at 8 p.m. The Choir will be participating in mass at The Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland on Saturday, February 11, at 5:30 p.m. A short concert will follow the mass. The Choir will also be participating in mass at The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption in San Francisco on Sunday, February 12, at 11 a.m. The Choir will be performing at Mission Dolores Basilica on Sunday, February 12, at 5 p.m.
Bishop John Wester will be accompanying the Choir to the San Francisco Bay Area for the performance tour.
Admission Open Houses for The Madeleine Choir School are scheduled for Thursday, January 26th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, with a formal presentation beginning at 6:00 pm, and another scheduled on Sunday, January 29th from 12:30 - 3:00 pm, with a presentation beginning at 1:00 pm. The Choir School is located at 205 First Avenue, across from the Cathedral of The Madeleine. The school is currently accepting applications for the 2012 - 2013 school year for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Eight and scheduling personalized tours.
